It just seems to me that the people who claim to be these two religions are the most out-spoken and judgmental. My understanding is that these religions are suppose to be religions of peace and forgivness (at least Chritianity, not possitive on the Muslim religion, but I have heard them say it is a religion of peace). With the exception of some Atheist, who many times are just a tetchy, these are the only people I see who behave in this maner.
Now I know there are always exceptions, but you still have to admit that is seems to be the way it is. I just feel that it is an insult to tell someone they are going to hell because they believe something different. Yes you may belive that is the truth, but couldn't we all try to be a little nicer about it. There is that old saying that you can catch more flys with honey...
Anyway the main question is why do these religions seem to be the most judgmental?
Please only answer what I have asked.
Thanks.

The religion is about peace and forgiving. Its the people who dont get the message. They always argue about the most insignificant things and make enemies out of it. Mostly it is due to arrogance and ignorance.

Here is the catch 22, some of the answers pertain to the non believers casting the most stones. I hate to say it but they can, they are not bound by religion to accept others and avoid judgment.

Thus the Godly thing to do would be to accept that they have an opinion and move on without casting any stones yourself.

Dollparty wow, just wow. I find it slightly disturbing that you can hold an entire people accountable for the actions of one. Should be be disliking all Christians because of the actions of Mel Gibson. With that ideology you will eventually close yourself of to everybody.

I am not very familiar with the muslim religion but I was Luthern until about 10 years ago when I was challenged to read the bible and found the god of the old testament to be a creator of great atrosities. I began to study religion in general. Christianity is very judgmental and if my information is correct over the course of history Christianity has killed more people in the name of god than all the other religions put together. I believe there is a god of love waiting hoping we will return to him, I no longer believe he is in the old testament. I believe Jesus was here to try to tell us the way and it is love. we all have a responsibility to choose love or dominion. Love will get us back to father, dominion will get you another round here to try again. Hope I did not get to far off the question. Excellent question by the way.

In the reality of the"New World" we all have to live in today politics have unfortunately left a large footprint on the way people share beliefs with others. Both ARE supposed to be religions of peace, but that has been clouded by greed and mistrust throughout. Politically driven religious folks are by far the most dangerous in the world. Good luck trying to figure it out though. I know I haven't yet.

once you're conversing bearing directly to the "i'm a pastor" fundamentalist, you could not carry a dialogue with the decrease-and-paste function. And that seems to be bearing directly to the only 'reasoning' that is going on in any given submit of his. For all different fundamentalists, I even have considered the occasional injury-by using after many, many weeks of patiently answering the same questions persistently returned. a number of all of us is starting to be or are interior the approach of fixing right into a member of the Church because of the tolerance and love for Jesus that they have got witnessed from the Catholics in this dialogue board. It does not happen oftentimes, yet while it does, it jogs my memory of that Scripture bearing directly to the angels rejoicing in Heaven. All i will say is that greater human beings have been enjoyed into the dominion of God than have been ranted, threatened, or condemned into it. some thing that our "i'm a pastor" chum has curiously yet to verify.

I think anyone who's religious tends to be more judgmental to a degree. It's not just the 2 religions. The Jews and others are similar.

I have a few opinions about why Christians and Muslims are like that, but I won't pass judgment on them. I think it is actually a small outspoken minority that are like that and not the whole of the religions, hopefully.

Blessed Be )O(

It is not just Christians & Moslems!. Judaism has now apparently inherited a token Jew, Michael Richard ( Seinfeld's "Kramer" ) to do
that for them.
