It's ridiculous to hold any belief because another person tells you to. Each person should do their own research to find what feels good and right to them. I seriously do not understand people that argue about religion without really understanding it. If you haven't read the bible then I don't think you should knock it. Same goes with all holy text. Now if you have read these books and find that they don't hold any truth for you then at least you can say you made an educated choice.

Belief in G-d is part of us. Look at the archaeological and anthropological evidence every culture up to the modern era has had a religion, not just part of it, but woven through it.

Now look at the living faiths today all from different parts of the world isolated from each other in many instances yet at their core near identical.

It's your choice to belive or not. From the time I was 5 till I was 21 I was a hellraiser. On drugs and drinking all the time. But when He wanted me I went. I now do no drugs and no drink, but have gave my whole heart to God, because I wanted to.

we belive in God to satisfy him as a creator of the universe if you could see the blood in your viens or the rain or etc , praying to God satisfies you in every way clams your worries and heart..to keep our belief that there is a God so we will not go ashray and start believing in trees or witchcraft etc...

We believe in God because God gave you a need for Him. Our elders also passed down this treasure to us, just like everything else we learnt of value.

I think it's a combination of the two but definitely because older peolpe force religion down people's throat. Me personally, I don't even believe in God so I really don't care.

Drilled into the heads of children (same as santa and I imagine adults would believe in him too if eternal suffering was added to the mix) and given as an option to people who've hit rock bottom (or think they have)
