Ya It hurts in the beginning but not too much. when ur guy inserts his penis inside you vagina where the muscles try to expand giving pain in the beginning then it will subside slowly.

The frist time it will hurt a little--I mean think about it, inserting an object (depending on how big he is of course) into the same hole that you put tampons in...yeah that'll hurt a little untill it's stretched out a bit. It's not agony though, it's pleasurable pain (that sounds stupid, but it's true)
Like others said, if you are sleeping with a guy who doesn't care alot about you, it will hurt ALOT. This is because he'll only concentrate on getting off and will just pound you. Ouch. Sleep with someone who loves you (and whom you love), it's the only way to go.

No, sex should not be painful. Was your friend a virgin? Your first time can be a little uncomfortable especially if he is fairly large in size down there....only because you are tight. If you are not a virgin & it hurts hes either toooo big or you may have some health issues that need to be addressed with you gynocologist, sex should not be painful!

maybe the first time for a lady --- but with a caring partner and some common sense it would not hurt very much --- after that it can be very pleasurable --- why do you think there is all this hype if it hurts all the time???
i suggest your friend has no idea or they have a medical condition

It can hurt only if the guy is not gentle. You need to go slow and easy. If not you can stomach cramps for a day or so. But during sex is still pleasurable.

the first few times are a bit uncomfortable because it stretches u out and because those places arent used to be touched quite like that...even if u masturbate. but after youve done it a few times it doesnt hurt unless u get too rough.
