You can be assertive while buttering her up at the same time.
Just say "You always look beautiful to me, especially when you wear your hair like that"
Point out what you like about her, and over time she will start to get it. Just remember this for future reference.

I can't speak for others but when I ask anyone how I look it is because I honestly want to know. I want 100% honesty. That doesn't mean I want someone to tell me I look awful. You can be completely honest and say it in a loving way. Exam. If her pants are too tight you could say... I think your outfit is really nice but the pants shouldn't be so tight. Or... If her hair looks hideous you could say. You always look beautiful to me but I like your hair better other ways. The trick is to always give a complement first and then give her the bad news. If she asked you how her hair looks and you say... I think it looks bad. Then you will hurt her feelings and possibly start an argument. Telling the truth is LOVE you just need to tell the truth in a loving manner. Good luck and God bless!

I think you should always tell the truth, no matter what the issue is about. The best key to a good relationship is honesty. I say you tell her the truth, but if the truth might hurt her... Try to say it in a nice way, and maybe add but I love you no matter how you look.

If you care... NEVER LIE! You can help by telling what you see that might help. BUT If you lie, you are not helping at all. I find things that are beautiful in everyone that I meet. Those are the things that we want to bring out in people. NOT the faults. The faults are for others to worry over. Every person that was ever born was given a talent. It is our job to find that talent and build it into something special. I thank GOD every day for the gifts that HE has given to me. Merry Christmas!

Why should you LIE, Tell her the truth and she will be more like to understand you much better.
If you lie and someone else says something
she might say why did not you say I'd change a little of what she has on. Please be polite when telling anyone how them look be it good or bad.

It's a trick question so be careful, If you say she looks hot & when you go out peeps look @ her funny then she'l hate you for allowing her to go out looking like @ sea animal & If you say she looks "Not so Hot" then she'l be mad coz you don't think she's hot. So when such a topic arises change the subject or tell her that if you were her you'd wear (pick a sexy outfit from her waedrobe) this kinda outfit 4 that kin of outing. NEVER TELL THE TRUTH ON THIS SPECIFIC & "TOUCHY" SUBJECT.

Well, normally when a girl asks her boyfriend how she looks it means she needs reassuring so you shouldnt tell her she looks crap, however you dont have to tell a big lie if she doesnt look that great. Just say something like "you always look geat, but i think you'd look even hotter if you......." then just add in whatever you think she should change, like a different outfit or whatever.

Ah the question without a correct answer. If you say she looks good, you're lying. If you say she doesn't then you're insensitive and don't care about her feelings. Try to find a nice middle ground and sound sincere. The best of luck to you!
