If your Grandma is dieing..the best gift you can give her is you! Spend the time with her.Even just talking to her or a simple back rub is a gift from the heart. What can be better than that? I surely wouldn't tell her the reason you didn't buy her a gift is because you thought she would be dead. That would show no compassion on your part.Material things mean nothing when you are terminally ill but, having your family/loved ones there for you is the best thing you can do for her.Remember the last thing to go is hearing so make a point of saying I love you Grandma

So your grandma's dying and you or she don't know when that is going to happen. Whatever it is, she is fighting to stay alive. Concentrate on a week at a time and make the best of it. What illness she has that will terminate her life you did not mention. I assume that it is a terminal illness. Perhaps she may have some unfinish business to take care of and perhaps she has decided to go after Christmas. There is no harm in getting her a present and granting her last wish. Make the most of your time with her and reminisce the good times you had with her. Share happy moments with her and ask her if she needs to see anyone to say good by to. Journey with her and tell her it is ok to let go now and go on her way thanking her for the gift of her presence in your life and all that she has done.

Losing a family member during Christmas time is very difficult. But you don't know for sure if she is going to dye before Christmas. I would by her a blanket or something cause older people like those things and she does not make it, then either return it or keep it for yourself. But saying I thought you'd be dead by now is not cool, think if someone said that to you how would you feel.

Thats sounds horrible! Why not buy her a gift just because you think she might be dead by then doesn't mean you can't do something for her,why not write her a lovely poem or buy her a trinket so at least when you look at it you will remember her and the gift she would of had if she does go before xmas.

well you don't have to put "i thought you'd be dead by now" at all. you could just make her a nice card or give her a nice ornament she can put by her bed. things she can read or look at, coz there's no point in getting her anything else which she won't be able to use.
by the way, if you go for the card, put "hope you get better soon" as opposed to "thought you'd be dead by now!...she'll appreciate it more

You could get her a will-making kit from WH Smiths and spend some quality time together filling this out. You may also want to spend this time plying her with lots of early christmas presents, chocolates, flowers etc.

As someone who has a terminally ill relative, who in fact truly may not make it to Christmas, I think you're a complete and utter freak if you think this is funny.
Maybe you think this is just a joke, but some of us are really in the situation you seem to think is so witty and amusing.

You are pathetic, selfish, uncaring and cold.
How do you get through life only thinking of yourself?
People will come to this question thinking that you are in need of emotional support, but thats not so because you are bankrupt.
There are many people who lose loved ones or have ailing loved ones over the holiday that don't deserve to hear your BS. Get a Grip.
