Have you gained weight? Usually the pressure of greater weight will actually cause your feet to expand a size or two.

Most probably weight gain. I have gained quite a bit of weight over the last year or two, which I am trying to do something about (with varying success), and I have found myself having to buy a size larger shoes. I don't suppose once I lose the weight that my feet will get smaller again, though. Sucks...

One would think your feet would stop growing when you did, but that's not always the case: Mine have done the same thing.

I'm thinking that the tendons and ligaments in your feet sort of get stretched over the years, and so your feet spread just a bit. Especially if you're not trying to cram them into shoes too small for them.

well it could be that shoes are being sized smaller.

or it could be that you don't want to cram your feet into shoes that are too small anymore
