I just found my 7 month puppy chewing on what was left ( the metal tip) of my son's #2 pencil. Will the lead poison her. My son says they don't use lead anymore, it's graphite now. I don't know if this will harm her either, and the vets office isn't open yet. Any advice? I'm really worried!!! Any Pro's out there?

I don't think it will do her any harm as long as she chewed it so that no pieces can get stuck in her throat. Graphite is totally harmless in such small ammounts, so don't worry she'll be fine

im not sure if the graphite itself will cause poisoning, but the wood itself could be a danger. perforated stomachs through splinters and other nasties like this. when the vets opens give them a call to ask what they think but chances are if the dog doesnt look sick, the graphite wont do any harm.... dogs usually vomit when they eat something bad for them so keep an eye out for this and if it happens then find an emergancy vet who would be open.

Dont worry, pencils are graphite, no lead. My dog eats five pound rocks sometimes, and pencils whole. Its fine try not to worry.

She'll be fine. Most puppies have guts of solid rock. I'm no vet, but both my dogs have managed to ingest and puke up things that I just can't fathom why they put them in their mouths! I once thought my lab ate a cat toy (one with the little bell inside) and called my vet. I had to pour hydrogen peroxide down his throat and wait 15 minutes, at which point he puked up everything but the kitchen sink. No cat toy (found that later) but a couple of kids' socks and a dishrag.

If your pup ate a couple pounds of this yes it could hurt your pup.
Otherwise do not worry about it. Of course you could waste your money taking in your pup to the vet, vets are more then happy to take a persons money....
Your son is correct they do not use lead anymore....
