THE IMPORTANT THING TO BEAR IN MIND IS THIS...THE STUDY THAT CAUSED THIS WHOLE DEBATE NOTICED ABOUT 10 PTS HAD DEVELOP AUTISM. ITS HARDLY GROUNDBREAKING STUFF WHEN YOU THINK THAT IN ORDER TO PROVE THE BENEFIT OF USING ASPIRIN DURING A HEART ATTACK TOOK ABOUT 15,000 PEOPLE BEFORE THE STATEMENT WAS MADE.
THE OTHER IMPORTANT FACTOR TO CONSIDER IS THIS...THE POPULATION AS A WHOLE RELIES UPON AN AFFECT CALLED 'HERD IMMUNITY'. THIS MEANS THAT FOR THE SMALL NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT CAN'T RECIEVE THE IMMUNISATION DUE TO ALLERGY, IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEM, 95% OR MORE OF THE TOTAL POPULATION NEEDS TO IMMUNISED. AT PRESENT THE ACTUAL FIGURE IS MORE AROUND 88% AND THIS IS WHY WE ARE SEEING OUTBREAKS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
IN SHORT, THE LINK BETWEEN AUTISM AND MMR IS UNJUSTIFIED, AND THE BENEFITS FAR OUTWEIGH THE REMAINING RISKS, WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT MUMPS CAN STILL CAUSE INFERTILITY AND MEASLES CAN STILL KILL.

I and my 3 siblings have all had it, and there's nothing wrong with us! I did hear something along the lines of when they brought out the statistics about autism and the MMR, they included most children with autism and only a small selection of children without, so the results weren't very accurate.

All of my children have had the MMR Vaccination, and I've had no problems with it.
It's there to protect your child from these infectious childhood illnesses, and i can't see what people problems are with it.
The whole idea of the jabs, are to try and eradicate them.

Measles - not a lot to worry a healthy adult.Pesky childhood ailment.
Mumps - minor in childhood, unpleasant in an adult. Slight possibility of sterility to an adult male I believe
Rubella - disastrous to the unborn in the womb, blindness & deformity will follow.
All told, its your choice.
Given the overwhelming success of Polio vaccination (oral now) and the eradication of smallpox, I am in favour and my four children have all had the MMR.
As an adult male, my children brought me home a dose of Rubella (German Measles). Nothing of any consequence, but as I said, not to a healthy adult.

i think all this bad publicity is uncalled for really i know 1000s of kids who have had the vaccination and have suffered no adverse effects. there is absolutely no proper scientific reason to say that it causes autism. the amount of pressure being placed on the NHS because measles and mumps are on the rise is totally unnecessary

You shouldn't be asking this question of the general public, and certainly not taking any notice of the media. Ask the experts.

Measles can send you blind.
I suspect dirty tricks by a rival drug company and the public are gullible to make a fuss about nought!
