My son always wants to play with mine or my wife's phone and it ends up getting thrown or beaten up. We've tried our old cell phones but have concerns with small parts etc. The toy phone he has is crazy colored and unrealistic, I want a realistic looking one that he'll play with.

Thanks.

Target carries a kids cell phone that flips open for kids about that age. It's "Parents" brand. The numbers beep when you push them and you can record a message for your kids. One of the other buttons has people speak to your kid. Also, when you close the lid, it rings. My son likes it. He's had it since he was like 9 months old...it's suggested for kids about 15 months though I think.

Either give him an old one of yours or although it's not a "real" looking phone, Sears Essentials and other stores as well, carries a really cool flip phone with characters on it...I bought my kids a Buzz Lightyear and Incredibles phone and they are the best ones yet- they love them to death, they feel like they're really calling the character and have conversations with them. They're fun!

The Disney store we went to had little phones that were almost exact replicas of my hubby's "slider" phone. The button in the middle even made the "shutter" noise for the camera. The buttons make noise and if you hit other buttons a Disney character would talk to you. They had them in a ton of colors and characters so I'm sure there was one in a more realistic color. My daughter's is pink and is Minnie Mouse. She loves it.

Well, my son plays with his papa's old phone. When I dropped some clothes off at a goodwill, I noticed on the counter they had used phones. So why don't you stop at a goodwill and get him one.
