a brief answer to a question like that! lol.
Religions are man doing their best to reach God.
Christianity is about God coming to man.
EDIT:
Looking over the answers, I am amazed at how little Christianity and other religions are really known today. I think perhaps it would be a good thing for a course on "Comparative Religions" to be taught in public schools. After all, it is an understanding of culture.

Hinduism - they worship lots n lots of Gods.
According to Islam, their Gods were known as very good people, and when they perhaps..passed away they made idols and started to worship them, and the next generation believed they were Gods.

Christianity - Jesus is the Son of God, Mary is the Mother of Jesus, Adam, Noah, and all those prophets.

Islam - SAME as christianity, only they believe jesus is not the son of god, but just a messenger and after Jesus was the last messenger known as Muhammed. Mary is given a very high position in Islam, seeing that she is the only female mentioned in the Quran. Others are mentioned, but their names arent. Christians and muslims believe in the same God, only muslims call God, "ALLAH" which means God in arabic =]

and for hindusim, i wouldnt wanna say much, because i dont know much about it and its like being prejudice.

There are only two different groups of religion namely God and man-made. Whenever you can describe the God in the form of picture or statue , it is usually a man- made God . But as regarding to Christianity, it is a religion very near to the God. It is very unfortunate that they pray through Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him)

and what about Judaism. Jews believe that all the righteous of the nations have a share in the world to come; only the most evil of the evil are condemned to eternal punishment. Judaism is about Life and living it, about working together with God to finish His creation and to bring peace on earth and justice for all.

Christianity -- eternal punishment for non-believers -- focus on death/dying -- heaven restricted to Christians -- waiting for Jesus to bring peace on earth which was his only mission in the first place!
