I have been in therapy, I have tried zoloft, cymbalta, wellbutrin, paxil (not all at the same time). My mood isn't as bad as it was, but I am not happy, just indifferent. I feel that life is passing me by, how can I beat this thing?

I sort of feel that I go through life as a zombie, I don't experience joy or rage, my mood is just flat all the time. Unless of course I am sad, then I could cry for hours.

I am still in therapy, although I'm unsure that it is helping but currently not on any anti depressants. Am I destined to live the rest of my days like this?

How long have you been on the meds it takes 3 to 4 weeks for them to start to work and the therapy takes time several studies show the combination of the two will work but it is not an over night thing many people want instant cures this is not going to happen if you are not taking your meds then you are defeating yourself talk to your counselor if they do not know you are not taking antidepressents I am sure they will recomend you see your doctor and start this type of problem takes time and a team effort to beat

Well it sounds like you are taking all the right steps. How long have you been in theray? You need to remember that beating depression and anxiety is a long process of hard work.

I have suffered from anxiety and dysthemia my whole life. One thing that really helps is to excercise regularly and make sure you don't go to many hours without eating a little snack like carrots or peanuts (advise from my psychiatrist.)

As far as the medication goes, if you've suffered from depressio a long time, keep taking it. Try a diferent brand. Is the Zombie feeling worse then the depression?

I am prone to bouts of depression, and sure do not want to live like that. I have no prob with meds, but want to try anything that will help. Recently someone recommended a vitamin B complex and vitamin C. I am taking that, and have noticed a lift in my overall mood. I also find myself in much better spirits when I hit the gym--I mean really workout hard. Also, drinking lots of water, getting OUTSIDE for walks, being in the sun, and a very healthy diet of fruits and veggies all contribute to an overall better state of mind. I know these explanations sound so simplistic, how could they work, but they do! Please try them, and I bet you'll feel better in a month or so.

I'm against the idea of using drugs to make you feel better...i've been diagnosed w/depression since i was 9 years-old...
One thing that really works is meeting people (either online or outside), talk to a friend and he/she'll help you meet them....
Once you do you'll start going out doing fun stuff and sooner than you think you'll be a happier girl...

There are a number of doctors on the 'no meds' bandwagon. You should have no problem working out a regiment if you speak to your Gen. Practitioner.
