particularly in relation to the UK. Is there any special specification of lighting recommended in developments to have the least impact on bats?

we have a bat roosting in front of our house,where a shingle i s missing and we cannot replace it because of the law
saying we must not disturb them.
Our front door is just six foot away from the roost
and it is three foot above our front window,4yrs its been here
We have a 60 Watt porch light plus light from window but this
and people e do not faze our bat in fact at times he brings a lady
friend for a visit,we have been told it is mot likely a male as he is a loner .Sorry about rambling on. Bat lover. UK

Shouldn't be a problem. We have floodlights at night and the fruit bats ignore them. Other bats swoop at the insects that are attracted to the lights.

If it is a problem, use the type with a canopy over the top so the light illuminates down , not up. Save energy as well, use energy saving bulbs, not 500w floods.
