Whenever I'm on a plane I get uncontrollable muscle twitches in my left leg. It's really uncomfortable and means I'm forever fidgeting about in my seat and can't get to sleep. It also happens if i'm really tired.

Usually a quick walk sorts it out but i'd be interested to know what causes it and how the hell I can get it to stop because it's the most annoying thing and it's happened ever since I was a kid - mostly on long coach trips.

Also does anyone else experience this? I've only met one other person who gets this too.

It sounds like restless leg syndrome. There are meds for it and I have heard it is due to low calcium and bananas help. Like you said, a walk will work it out sometimes or an advil.I'd see a Dr. if you are losing sleep over it.

I experience this in both legs, except it's not just when I rest, it's all day every day. My doctor's are baffled by this because it started out of nowhere 6 months after I had my daughter. They prescribed muscle relaxers, but all that does is put me to sleep. My doc wants me to go to a neurologist next, so that's what I'm going to do. Good luck!
