I never really "lost" religion, because I never really believed whole-heartedly anyway.

It's pretty good not having religion, if I do say so myself.

Even those people who seem to be the most devout, have dry periods in spirituality.

Our lives are a journey. Sometimes we are in lovely meadows with sun and flowers. Sometimes we are in a dry desert. Sometimes we are in a dark swamp. Our connection to our spiritual base, often in religion, may become stronger or weaker at different times. This is normal and nothing to cause concern. During the distant periods, continue to pray as you used to. Do not judge yourself. This happens.

Some of the most profound insights and spiritual experiences are linked to "dark nights of the soul." Without the darkness we would not know what light is.

I was obssessed with religion when I was in grade school. I "talked" to God all the time. I went to church and Sunday school. Then I started asking questions. The answers were just ridiculous. So, by about 5th grade, I became an atheist, and never turned back. And I haven't regretted my decision for a single moment.

What do you mean by losing your religion?
Does it mean that you were unable to follow some religious activity or so? If its like that, you have misunderstood the purpose of religion.

The purpose of religion is social & psychological peace.
By abiding social rules to religion, it provides social peace.

By abiding mythologies, ignorance, it provides psychological peace. Because one never bothers for an answer after answered like this, "God has made so & so for so & so"

Or does your question mean that you are changing your religion "in government gazzets & documents?".

If so, what difference it make in you personally?

hope, this will make some fog (Religious!?) clear for you.

I do not even like the word religion. I was born to a Lutheran family. I got baptized as a baby and I got confirmed when15.

I walked away from my childhood faith, I never really was a church goer. I studied the Bible of my own, but I really did not have anyone to explain things to me. I did not have a personal relationship with God. I also felt guilt over numerous things.

He is the lover of my soul even when no one else loves me, even when I hate myself. He lifts me up. What a wonderful friend. And when you have that kind of relationship with God, you do not want to follow religion.

But then I started to have this hunger for God's word. I joined the non-denomination Christian church, got baptized, and started to work on having a personal relationship with God. It took time, but when you let Holy Spirit in your heart, that makes all the difference.

And when you have this personal relationship with Jesus, instead of religion, you want to honor you God. But when we are not honoring Him, I can clearly see that I am in the wrong and I do not blame Jesus for my wrong doings. I can clearly see that I might have doubt and I might fall badly, but my Lord is the same in every circumstance.

I want to be with Him forever, and He made it possible for me for dying for my sins. He died for all of my sins...for the ones I have done, I do and I will do..everything is covered. I just need to accept His gift of eternal life and repent.
