The British probably drink more alcohol in this day and age. As for the Irish and British ALL being British get a little more informed before you make an ignorant comment. The Irish are NOT British, except for some in the 6 northern counties of Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is separate from The Republic of Ireland which consist of the 26 remaining counties. I won't bother to give you a history lesson. But they are not all British the Irish are not descendants of the British.

The british.. Yes indeed.
Basically because there are alot more british people to Irish.
We have alot of pubs per person here in Ireland, which is great.
You have to make up for lost time on the weekends. We don't binge drink here. We just enjoy it!!! Even if we can't remember it...
For danjontina's information, we are not British , never ever were and never ever will be. So please do not insult our intelligence. We are Irish. Ireland being a republic, independence from the british since 1922 and a seperate land to the UK. We are not part of the british isles. We happen to be more westerly than you are.. Please update your information. It is so annoying when we are called something we are definitely not. Would you like to called an Irish person? I am and proud of it!

binge drinking is worse, all that alcohol in one go isn't good for your body and it's more likely you'll have an accident, get in a fight or somebody will take advantag. Going to the pub every night is bad though but better than having a binge. If you have 2 pints after work every week for five days then that's only 10 pints a week which is fine.

British drink more than Southern Irish, as about 10 times as many of them. Per head, I don't know. At a guess, in Northern Ireland the British drink exactly as much as the Irish...

The British drink more, and yeah that includes me.
But I drink a little everyday, which is better than binge drinking at weekends.
