Yes self mutalating is a mental illness. It is painful. It is not love nor natural to do this to yourself or anyone else. You need to visit with your doctor, quickly. It will scare you for the rest of your life physically and mentally. So you need to get help to stop immediately.

I work in the mental health field and YES Seroquel make you gain weight it increases your appetite. Where I work I offer the children on Seroquel lots of fruit and healthy snacks. If the weight gain is that bad let your doctor know he can find an alternative. Also, no self mutilating is not diagnosed as a mental illness it may be signs that you are having problems....so talk to your doctor they can help you. However, when self mutilating they try to send you places group homes and to the hospital so you can have constant supervision and receive therapy at the same time. Self Mutilating is a coping skill and often used to seek ATTENTION!!!!

You are punishing yourself because of what lies others have fed you...so to get more attention, you have decided to punish yourself, I am sure that this is not a mental condition, but more of a cause and affect type situation...I don't think it is, because I believe that it can be cured with finding out what is causing you to react this way...and a mental illness can only be controlled with meds...and yes, I have heard that Seraquel puts on weight. Please pray on this one darling...God Bless, my prayers are with you.l

Anything NOT to face the painfull emotions hidden underneath drugabuse, foodaddictions or loads of work or other excessive tendencies.
STOP the meat, alcohol, drugs, the speeding, the work & sexaddictions. stop your addictions.
It's your fantasy drama, its your mind, not your soul.
Kill your ego, kill it! by doing (kundalini) yoga or martial arts
work your way through your karma but not your ancestral or other peoples karma.
you have a mental, physical and spiritual health to deal with.
It is a holy obligation to deal with those three.
If you don't see the use of this you are merely existing as many others who make the army of the living dead.
So it is wise to convert to any religion find ways to deal with your body and read and find a spiritual connection with this world.

Yes cutting, burning, bruising are all signs of mental illness. Most Antidepressants do make a person gain weight but it is better to gain a little weight than to hurt yourself.

Hurting yourself is considered a symptom of mental illness, yes. In some cases the underlying problem is depression. If you're doing these things to yourself, I would advise you to see professional help.
