please if you are going to state that satans name was lucifer before he fell from heaven back up your theory with a biblical verse please. if you dont have one you cant prove me wrong and your wasting your time trying.
i have studied this for about 3 mounths and have such confidence in it that i have mad it a my topic for my advanced theology class thesis
sooo really i would be happy if you proved me wrong as you can see it would be quit embarising for me if i happened to over look a verse that would destroy my entire thesis

another thing for you to consider is that in judaism and the old testament "the satan" is NOT some sort of devil. its basically god's prosecuting attourney.

there is no "devil" in the old testament,
nor is there an eternal hell, a "fall of man" (eating the fruit is seen quite differently, NOT at all a stain of sin inherited by all man, like in most of christianity)

in fact the angels never rebelled in the OT either. this is partly because the angels never had true free will to begin with, which would be neccesary to rebel in that manner.

"the devil" is a personification of negative impulses in humanity.

Allow me to put it this way. Creation has 3 phases: image, ordain, manifest. When God said: "Let there be light.", and there was light, that was God's first creation, the light, and you are right that was Lucifer (former name was something like "Luzbel" meaning light). Lucifer also thought he was the first creation of the Father, and he was right at that time. But when Lucifer became discontented of just being co-equal with his creator and thought of being greater instead, the Father stripped him of his title of being the first creation. The Father appointed the word ("Let there be light.") not only as the first creation but the one through whom everything in the universe was and has been created. Everything in the universe is created through every word that God speaks. Lucifer is Satan, the devil, the author of everything that causes death.

Before Satan's fall he was known as Lucifer, God's most anointed angel. I think that you are stretching things a bit too far when you say that Jesus is calling himself Satan. Satan is the angel of light, meaning that he demands that the spot light of attention be focused upon him. Jesus is the light unto my path. Jesus is the light through the darkness, the guide through the valley of the shadow of death.

It is a very good question!

Lucifer is Satan. Lucifer was his name when he was an angel of God.

I do not know where the other scripture is, or I could try to answer you on the light bearer thing.

Also my friend, if you are not a born again Christian, you will not understand the Bible as it is the Holy Spirit who gives us understanding and ony when you have given your heart to Jesus Christ.

I am not really qualified to answer this question. I think you'd really need to be a biblical scholar to debate this one. A lot of things can get lost in translation, so to be able to read the original language texts would be essential to understanding I think.

Lucifer is Satan. Since he was overcome with pride, he wanted to become God. He is a fallen angel and he is now who we call Satan.

Lucifer the angel, was one of God's most perfect creations. Lucifer(which means lightbearer), actually rose in opposition to God. This was due 2 Lucifer believing that he was equal to God, and could undertake his own creation. Our God is far superior to any of His creations.
