Nahh, It is probably some hip displacement. It usually is not very painful. Or arthritis could also be the cause. My dog does this alot more when the weather is cold. She does not appear to be in any pain. Or I would give her a little pain medication.

First of all what kind of food do you feed him?
how long does it last?
Because If it lasts a few hours he could be having an allergic reaction which could be giving him hives in his upper leg joint which can be uncomfortable for a dog.
Try to not let him scratch it because it could give him a bit of mange. It wouldn't last long but it doesn't look nice and can get infected.
But you should probably take him to a vet because it could be something more serious that needs attention.
and I'm porbably not 100% correct.
Hope you find this helpful

It could be anything, you need to call your vet and consult with him or her. It's better to be safe then sorry. Also, the person who wrote that hip diplacement is not painful should realize it is. I saw x-rays of a dog with hip displacement and the balls do not sit in the sockets properly, if that was your hips don't you think it would hurt.

If he was blocked he would not be able to eat, or if he did eat he would throw u because the food would not ve able to go out the other way. He could have a bad knee or hip. You might want to have him checked.

A good chance he has hip dysplasia. My male dog has it in both hind hips. Have him checked by your vet. Properly treated, he can he can have a good quality of life. If left untreated, it can be painful for him. If you love him, please take him to the vet.

You should really get this checked out by a veternerian to see if everything is okey with your dog. This could be really minor but its better to be safer then sorry especailly when dealing with animals.

Sounds like luxating patella. There are different grades and some require surgery. It can be very painful for your dog...time for a checkup!

I know lots of dogs that "skip" on one of their hind legs. My own dog does it sometimes when he's outside. I have no idea why though.
Unless he's in pain, I'd say it's normal.

Impossible to diagnose without seeing your dog. Take him to the vet.
