I have a 9 year old daughter...Im a workaholic big time and havent had any time this year to really spend with her, during the day I sleep and she goes to school but when she gets back I head off to work a 12-hour shift. I feel guilty because I don't know what she's into or likes...please I'm open to suggestions from anyone...I just need a big long list of things and I'll do the pickin...thank you

I'm sure that more than anything that she wants more of your time and attention. Take time to give it to her cause before you know it you will be wanting to know what a 19 yr old wants instead of a 9 yr old. Time is precious.

If she's 9 she'd probably like fun things like an mp3 player, dvd player, a handheld game system (like nintendo ds, or something like that) cute clothes, etc. But if you dont get to spend much time with her I think that'd be the best present of all. Maybe a day where just the 2 of you go out for lunch, go to a fun place like a park/arcade/zoo/movies/shopping, etc, maybe let her pick out her own presents because she knows what she likes better than anyone. If your kid is anything like I was when i was young, then a small pet would be cool too. When i was about 9 or so my mother bought me a hamster for christmas and I absolutely loved it. It was small and easy to care for , but lots of fun. it also taught me some responsibility. If she's not ready for an animal like that, then you could set her up a small fish tank. Theyre fun to watch, and all you have to do is feed them. then you could take her and let her pick out her own fish. Just a few ideas, good luck!

The best gift you could give her is yourself...Seriously. take a day off and spend the whole thing with her. Ask her what she's into, what she likes. this is important for you to know anyway, because she is at an age when she really needs to know her mother is there.....Give her your time. Share with her things from when you were her age.... If I was your daughter I'd want my mom more than anything. Take a day off, spend it with your daughter you won't regret it, I promise!

Why don't you try asking her. She should get what she wants, not what someone else THINKS she wants.
