how do you define a guy who gets very physically intimate with ANY girl out there, (fat ones, short ones, ugly ones) such as putting his arm around their necks, touching and fiddling with their hair intensely, but just won't even to touch the girl he has a crush on? (the girl whom he claimed to be hot and pretty) how do you explain this?

how do you explain this guy?

most shy guys are like this... because they just feel they have to be perfect for the ones that they truly like and would prefer to always make a good impression and "do the right thing" with them.

if it's you that he has a crush on, then a suggestion would be... why not make a fool of yourself in front of him? this may make him more comfortable with you (don't make it too much though) if he is a decent guy, then he'll be fine with it and still think of a you with the same feelings but now, he's gonna say that, "hmm... maybe i don't have to be perfect for this girl after all. she's pretty out there and i like it... =P (if he stops liking you at this moment, he would be pretty shallow and he doesn't deserve you)

He already has her interest. He shows effection to different females now because of the fact he needs their interest to feed his feeling of magnitude and recognition to the choice intercourse.
