I heard, dont know if its true, that there is a hugh sun-storm (dont know if this is the right word or not) on the sun, and that in 2012 the storm will reach its climax, and we will feel it here on earth. Apearently it will cause havoc here on eaerth. I read that there are organisations in the world building bunkers so that they can hide from the heat. What do you think?

It's called Revelations........ the end times, it gets worst every year until the world eventually burns up everything, basically till there's no evidence of human life, not even a junk car.

The sun storm, they don't hurt us in a way that we need bunkers, they simply hurt us through radiation and heat. And even then it is not great. I personally have never heard that rumour, but I will say anything happening on the sun that greatly(although really slowly) effects us is through its natural cycles. The sun has these, and if you look at fossil records of rats(it has been done, so that is why they are my example) you can see that the population of the rats correspond to the sun's cycles. Radiation is the key word.
Any extreme stuff is most likely nonsense, Im sure you already realized that.

I'm pretty sure that the people who are at the moment alive and below the age 60 have a high probability to see the end of the world.

Of course, I can't promise anything, but it is likely.

There are theories, thanks to the Mayan and Aztek calender ending in 2012, that the world will end in 2012. Who knows? All we can do is hope. Or if you're not like me, look for shelter.

For those who are like me, I expect to see a wave of hippies, 1 year before the end. xD Let's all gather and have a happening year! lol

I hope this information is of any use, if you're interested in this subject, it might be an idea to look into Aztek and Mayan theories. I don't know of any good sites to do this, but you can search the internet by just using the keywords Aztek and Calender 2012.

The Mayan Calendar ends in the year 2012. But I'm tired of all these predictions of Doom and such. Back in the 80's we were supposed to get ravaged by Halley's Comet. At the turn of the century we were supposed to have the Y2K ctastrophe. The world will continue going on well beyond 2012.

It's not likely, since the sun is supposedly headed into a period of lower activity. Although, anything is possible. Even during the sun's downtime, it still can periodically birth a solar storm. (It just did, as a matter of fact.)

Will it totally mess up the Earth? Probably not. Solar storms normally don't do that much damage. (The satellites in orbit usually take the biggest hit from them.)

It is a Solar Flair. The biggest threat is to Communication. The Radiation can act as a large Electra Magnetic Surge. It is thought that all communication will be disrupted for Weeks.
The Heat, and Radiation will be abated by Earth's Atmosphere.

Just guessing here.

2012 is supposed to be the date of the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar. There are a lot of doomsday scenarios out there for this date, although this sun storm one is new to me. We won't know until the time comes.

Isn't that the same year the Mayan calendar predicts the world will end in flames?

I don't know whether we'll feel it or not. But I hardly think it's the end of the world.
