obviously writing is mainly visual, what i mean is a language that uses only images. eg photos

ya there is like egypt wrighting in tombs. but asl (sign launguage) is visual and you can use that in art finger spelling or signs! will work ;) there are some acient clay tablets named "Sumerian Tablets" i think its a starting point for this sorts of things your looking for.

Body language, which is visual, can communicate more than the person speaking directly to you.

Ever done that little dance when someone walks toward you on the street and neither of you can decide which way to move?

Chances are they are from a different area or nationality. The visual signs we pick up from each other that say 'I go this way, you go that, ok' are not interpreted the same way.....so you end up bumping in to them.
