My great grandmother from my mother side was jewish. I am christian and my mother was buddhist.

Ok, well you are Jewish firstly seeing as your mother is Jewish! You may think your mother is not Jewish, but you agree that grandmother was Jewish.....well, in the Jewish religion if your mother is Jewish, so are you and once you are Jewish, you cannot shake it off! Even if your mom converts to any other religion, you and her are both still Jewish! If it is in your ancestry, then you should be able to make aliyah to Israel! :) I don't necessarily think you have to be Jewish to move to Israel though. You may be able to practice Judaism better there. Hope your plans are successful! be well! :)

you would have to be able to show that at least one of your parents are grandparents was jewish according to jewish law and not just descent, and you also would have to show that you aren't a member of another religion.

according to the Israeli law of return if you are an active member of another religion you cannot get automatic citizenship even if you are fully Jewish.

Judaism is both by blood and by religion.
but if your not jewish by religion then your not jewish.
you could still convert, and THEN call right of return.
