A spell is an attempt to make something happen mechanically. Prayer is a loving dialogue with another being. Not similar.

Just to clear it up, spells generally have nothing to do with demons. That said, spells and prayers can be nearly the same, but they are generally a little different. I will point out that Wiccans and Pagans "pray" too, similarly as to what a Christian might do. And when performed properly, a spell is not supposed to be just you (or a demon..), rather you and the "divine"- whether people believe they are working through the aid of one or another diety, or the divine energy in everything. My understanding of modern paganism would say both are true. I hope this was helpful somehow.

well i never thought of them from this point of view. Actualy i think is a very unique way to see them. Anyway i think they are its another kind of mojo...........but if u would have said that in the 16th centuary then for sure u would have been burned on the stick. Personaly i think is a verry good remark. But since the spells are a bad concept well the "prays" for wichcraft had to have a name. U can say abt prays that they are incantations as well. But in the end if they help you and make u feel more secure in this world in the end u can call them how u like. And i don;t think just christian prays but prays in general.

Yes they are, but it's more complicated than you are probably thinking.

There isn't just one Christianity, and while some view prayer as a way to ask God for things, others view prayer as a sacred act of submission to God, and there are plenty of people in between.

The same, I think, is true with Wiccans and other neo-pagans. While some may simply be trying to get things, others use spells to connect with the universe.

1. When you cast a spell, you think YOU are doing it, but actually, it's demons who are. Normally spells are cast for selfish reasons.

2. Christians pray to God through Jesus, and if it is His will, it will be done. He looks at the heart and is not like a giant teddy bear to be manipulated. God is God. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Basically yes, in prayer you're asking for something and in working a spell you're doing the same thing.

I have some friends that are Wiccan and some that practice Voodoo, by what they say I would have to say "maybe". It all depends if the spells are white or good in nature.

Do you mean: Christians prayers are somehow like spells?

More like wishes, unless you fast.
Fasting makes it like a spell.
Oh, yeah can't forget the 99 cent store Catholic prayer candles, lol.
