What do you think is the best course to take if you're interested in inventing herbal medicines?

I'm curious to know what course to take. Is it biology, botany, chemistry, pharmacy or medicines?

Herbal medicines are discovered, not invented, because the object is to use naturally-occurring materials. Take botany and chemistry to find if any naturally-occurring materials have curative effects on maladies, or if they mimic any synthetic biochemicals used as medicines.
