Your question appears to be flawed. I researched ginger and I'm sure there is only one.
I would not get rid of it as it has many good properties. It is used in cooking and medicine and apart from a slight downside in that it causes flatulence in some people it should not be feared.

When I lived in australia my flat mate worked on The Age and had to write an article about patents. He discovered that someone had applied to patent a cat flap which denied entry to ginger cats - clearly this is an international issue.
