We were asked to research about information about Jesus not mentioned in the bible. I'm having a hard time searching.

Pico has a point. There are many religions in the world claiming to be worshiping the One God and many of them have some form of a lesser prophet or Being that is also revered. Research Mormanism, Jehova Witness....ism LOL, the Koran, Judaism. You'll find many mentions of a Jesus and those book are not of the Bible and so will quallify for your research.

Let me tell you that whatever it is that you find and it not written in the Bible is a lie. Even the book of the mormons is a lie. Whoever asked you to find such information is from the cult group.

TRY THE FOLLOWING REFERENCES:
1. The "Annals and the Histories." by Cornelius Tacitus--He was called the greatest historian of ancient Rome. The Annals would probably suit you best since it covers the period from Augustus's death in A.D. 14 to that of Nero in A.D. 68. You will find that Tacitus speaks of the death of Christ and to the existence of Christians in Rome. Look it up in Annals XV, 44.
the account of Tacitus proves that Christ, Jesus of Nazareth existed, and that He did die by the duly administered Roman death penalty.
2. Suetonius, a Roman historian, and court official under Hadrian in his "Life of Claudius" 25.4 "As the Jews were making constant disturbances at the instigation of Christ, he (Claudius) expelled them from Rome." Luke refers to this event in Acts 18:2, which took place in A.D. 49.

You could always mention the Book of Mormon the Mormon "companion" to the Bible. Finding any 'real' info that's not related to a religion might be tough.
