Out of those two i would say Duran is the better Lightweight without doubt but i would say that Robinson was by far a better Middleweight than Duran.
However Benny Leonard goes down as the best Lightweight ever with Duran a close second in most of the magazines and internet lists, in my mind though Duran is the best Lightweight of alltime, he showed us all how tough he was by moving up 3 weights and still giving some of the best Middleweights of alltime the fight of their lives, he was an absolute warrior.

I'm assuming you mean Sugar Ray Robinson. Which is strange because even though Ray did fight initially at 135lbs, he never fought anyone of significance at that weight. He didn't stay at 135lbs long enough. Before the first year of his Pro Career had passed he was already fighting at Junior Welterweight or Welterweight.
The best at 135lbs in my opinion was Pernell Whitaker. He was the Undisputed Lightweight Champion for 3yrs before moving up for bigger paydays. Roberto Duran and Benny tied for Second. I would have liked to see Duran vs Whitaker at 135lbs. Sweet Pea also brought home the 135lb Olympic Gold Medal back in 1984.

I believe that Sugar Ray Robinson was both the greatest welterweight and middleweight fighter of all time and that Roberto Duran was the greatest lightweight fighter ever!

I do know if he is the best,tocayo. He is my favorite boxer of all time. Nobody ever talks about why he quit in the 2nd fight with Leonard.He quit because they paid Leonard more money. I have never cared for points in boxing. I remember after the fight with Benitez in which he lost by points. He was interviewed in spanish and asked if he respected Benitez. Roberto said ,why he never even hurt me.

DURAN IS THE BEST LIGHT WT. ROBINSON WAS A WELTER WT AND MIDDLE WT- HE WAS THE BEST IN BOTH CLASSIFICATION.
