To get a 'wiff' if the one they are admiring, good eyes to bad eye, is a hot chick or competition (if the sniffer is a boy).
Thank goodness we humans don't do it.

yeah i know the reason why..
dogs secrete hormones in their body, it's called "pheromones"..
These hormones lets the dog distinguish if the other dog is male or female..
that's why you see some dogs sniffin' at the other's a**hole..Ü
