Yes, it is perfectly normal (I wet the bed until 7, then stopped on my own).
Here's some stats from goodnites.com:
• Five to seven million kids in the United States wet the bed.
• 20% of 5- to 10-year-olds wet the bed.
• About 33% of 5- and 6-year-olds wet the bed.
• Bedwetting is more common among boys than girls–about 2/3 of kids who wet the bed are boys.
• 72% of kids who wet the bed will outgrow it by the time they’re 11 – 99% by age 15.

Bedwetting in this age group is relatively common. That doesn't mean you have to "wait until the child grows out of it". Children that still wet at this age just haven't developed the ability to awake themselves at night when their bladder is full. Many well meaning people suggest to limit fluids or to use drugs. This doesn't help the children learn to stay dry on their own.
The most effective (and medically proven) method to help speed up this process and help children get to permanent dryness is to use a moisture sensing alarm that alerts them when they are wetting. Initially, since these children are very sound sleepers, they may not awaken on their own and require assistance from a parent. Over a few days to several weeks, children learn to awaken to the alarm, then begin to understand what the feeling of a full bladder is like and wet less and less. The vast majority of children can acheive permanent dryness in a period of about 1- weeks.
Children can eliminate years of wetting at night and many missed sleepovers. Please spread the word that these bedwetting alarms work and cost less than $100.
I recommend the Malem alarms. You can find them online.

I incredibly have a ten 365 days previous brother whos thoroughly incontinent day and nighttime so he hasnt incredibly experienced authentic "bedwetting" yet im 17 and ive moist the mattress ever because of the fact that i grow to be out of diapers. not something helped, my dad and mom tried waking me up each few hours. worked now and back, now and back it didnt whether it made me incredibly drained for college. its in simple terms some thing your new child will improve out of.
