If you have any information on your grandmother or grandfathers name there is a good start. birth records were not started until by law until 1820. So then you will have to start going further into church records. you can always go to the national records archives in near kew gardens where records up to 1820's are kept where before as you may know was somerset house. Or else a person will otherwise charge you £500 ahead.
