I have an almost perfect boyfriend. I'm beautiful & 36 He's rich & 50 - how cliche. Both geniuses, love to play, love family, HE is loving, forgiving, thoughtful. . .About 2 weeks ago, I freaked out! I had been using Meth and just lost it. I invented some "facts" accused him of cheating and broke up. I explained I was on Meth and am truly sorry, will let him go if that is best. I also said that if he isn't here to support me while I'm recovering, I won't be able to be with him because he left me when I needed him most. He's been there for me, but not happy about it (not rude or mean, just not happy to be around me) He won't say, 'I love you' and seems distant. I realize I blew it! I want this to work and am willing to wait for trust and comfort to return, but I don't want to waste anyone's time. Am I right to ask for support? I am trying to see his side and my narrow mind won't do it. Please give insight! Thanks!

Wow!! Yep...You blew it all right! Hmmmmm...How long ago did all this happen? He may still be digesting these new revelations about you..(that may be why he is distant).

Here's some idea's....1)Give it some time.....he may still be sorting things out in his head 2) Really share your heart with him....Does he REALLY know that you are sorry? Does he REALLY know that that you want this relationship to work out?
3) Let him see some progress.....Have you been clean 4 awhile now? Have you gotten some counseling? Have you told him that you are getting counseling to get yourself straightened out?

There is nothing wrong in asking for some support....but don't limit yourself to just him......ask..family..friends...people at church...a support group.

I'll say a prayer for you and wish you well in your recovery!! If you need anymore help with your Meth addiction, check out my sources below. God Bless!!

One minute you are blaming yourself for pushing him away and the next you are saying you can't be with him because he wasn't there for you when you needed him.

You can't have it both ways I'm afraid petal. You need to show him that you are trying desperately to help yourself, that may well prompt him to join you but if you can't be bothered to help yourself, what would be the point in him standing your corner?

You need to work as a team, not make accusations or argue with eachother.

Best of luck

I think you answered this for yourself .... you f*cked up and blew it ... how could anyone who has such a seemingly perfect life be so bloody stupid????
Looks like it wqs a very expensive lesson ... I hope you learned from it ... and yes you do deserve to be supported if you're serious about rehab .... but I can see how dissapointed your guy is ... how is he ever going to trust you again?
I hope you sort things out
Good Luck :)

you did the right thing by asking for support..You can't get threw this by your self. You need some one who will stand in your corner and pick you up when you fall.I don't think your boyfriend understands. He may never been around anyone doing drugs.try talking to him one more time and see what happens.you might have to move on.he may never trust you again.

Do you think he is not in love with you but is sticking with it due to guilt? you know, would feel bad or guilty if he did what he wanted?
