Because ego makes you think that you are better than some one else, and that is against Islam because Muslims believes that everyone is created equal. The one that makes a human better than the other is piety and good conduct.

Ego also makes you forget that there is something greater than you. Because ego makes a person feel that he's the greatest, then it is wrong for humans to be egoistic because only God is the one without a superior.

Hope that helps.

i dont know that Ego supercedes God in any form?
If a person is true to God and worship. They must submit themselves in humility to HIM
If EGO does supercede God in some peoples life, it is because they do not know God. definitions are required
Most people have an inborn requirement to be satified with their work, and it has to be from their peers. Such satisfaction can be led of corrupt people as much as it can from God. But God is not going to interfere with apersons life unless it affects the whole. Usually it is the ways of man and his sin that comes to an end in disastifaction.

no Islam doesn't come close and some Islamic factions wish the sword to all who refuse Allah. Be Muslim or Be beheaded....
Judaism is somewhat more likely to co-exist but not on all terms.
Ego vs God they are the same as both are products of mans
doing. so let them argue with themselves. Ego may be more real than God for the most part it's more down to earth and sometimes even rational.
peace out and pass the Hog Jowls cause granny's a comin'....

I am a born again Christian.

1. We need to give ALL praise to God our Creator. When we seek admiration for our SELVES, we are seeking to lift ourselves up, and not God.

2. Ego is flesh.

3. Flesh seeks fleshly desires and pleasures and not spiritual ones.

4. "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you". - 1 Thess 5:18
