Yes.

Remember it's always the best five cards. Four of a kind is on the board along with one other card. If one of you can beat the kicker on the board then you can beat the board. The person with the higher kicker wins.

So if the board is 6 6 6 6 8 and one of you has a 9, you can beat the board and thus have a better hand. This is because 66669 is better than 66668.

So if you consider the four cards total held between you and your opponent the question is, does one of you have a high card that beats the high card on the board (in my example the 8). If so, then that player will win. Whichever one has the best card to beat that 8 (or whatever the kicker is in your specific hand).

If the board was 6666A, then it is going to be a split pot. It is impossible to beat quad sixes, and it is impossible to beat the kicker since an ace is the best kicker and in Hold'em suits don't have strength (ie spades is not better than clubs etc).

Yup the best 5 cards make the final hand, when there is a tie the kicker is used to break the tie. With the boared is k-k-k-k-a then it is a chop all the way around, but a hand like j-j-j-j-2 and another player has q-q and the other has k-3, the k-3 would win the pot with the better kicker.

Texas carry 'em (additionally universal as carry'em or holdem) is a version of the usual card interest of poker. the interest contains 2 enjoying cards being dealt face right down to each participant and then 5 community enjoying cards being placed by employing the broker—a chain of three ("the flop") then 2 added single enjoying cards ("the turn" and "the river"), with gamers having the choice to envision, guess or fold after each deal, i.e. making a guess could take place past to the flop, "on the flop," "on the turn," and "on the river."

Has there been a showdown or are you considering your bet? Obviously, if you can make your opponents fold due to an aggressive bet from you, the pot is yours. If everyone has shown their cards, the highest kicker wins unless there is an even higher card on the table.

Board reads:
5♠ 5♥ 5♦ 5♣ 10♦

Your hand - A♥ 9♥

The kicker should never come into play with four of a kind because it's not possible for two people to have the same four of a kind. The highest four of a kind would win, period. If you're the only one with four of a kind you win, period.
