Xanax, is great for helping with panic attacks, and anxiety...however, please be careful with this, as it can cause terrible seizures when coming off of it....you are probably a very bright person, who has a very active imagination...a bit of hypochondriac...and this sometimes is OCD taking it's form....If this is what the doctor prescribes you, take the lowest dose and do not take it all the time, if you can avoid it. It is an amazing pill, to reduce the panic attacks and anxiety and keep you calm..but try to keep yourself involved in helping others, and I am sure you are going to be fine, God Bless darling.

Yes, since doctors seem to ignorantly prescribe the stuff. It's just as overprescribed as Valium was 30 years ago, yet doctors don't seem to realize that yet.
My point is that Xanax is easy to get, and is a nice useful medication but only if you don't use it everyday. It's also easy to get addicted to and has one of the worst withdrawels of any drug.

It sounds like you're also worried about what will happen at the doctors office. You may be prescribed any number of things or nothing at all. Don't be afraid to tell your doctor what your worries are about any drugs s/he mentions. The doctor isn't there to drug you up against your will, s/he is there to help you find what will work best to help relieve your symptoms. Remember that the doctor works for you!

you may need psychological sessions, not medication. You seem to be more worried about what is going to happen, than what is happening.

You're just a hypocondriac. They'll probably put you on a sugar-pill.
