What are you doing in church when you don't believe in Christ?

What he means is that all sins are equal in Gods eyes. None worse, none better. He forgives us of our sins if we ask him.

When judgment day comes we can't beg him for forgiveness - or change our minds about him. What is done is done. And there will be punishment - they call it hell! (Literally)

With your last little bit, if they don't believe then they aren't Christians and obviously don't love God (judgment day is a bit late), so they will go to Hell. That's the flat facts of it. Mentally disabled people would probably be classified as "children" as they cannot make their own decisions. As for "killers", well, unless they have asked God beforehand to forgive them and truly love Jesus, I'm afraid that they are going to hell too.

Does this priest/minister believe that there is no hell? If so where on Earth does he get his preaching material from because it is completely wrong!!!

There are some Christians who believe that because God is merciful everybody will get into heaven. They seem to completely miss the second part of the verse which goes something like ..."to those who love him." THIS IDEA IS WRONG.

There is a hell. It is real. And horrible beyond description, if you don't believe me read or see on DVD John Bevere's "Preparing for Eternity" series. It is fantastic. Or read your Bible. Get your minister to read it too (Bevere & Bible). It seems as though he needs some help!

Yes all sins are equal, and all sins are deserving of the same penalty which is eternal separation from God in a place called Hell. Since all sins are equal they all require the same payment, and that payment is simply to accept the sacrifice made by Jesus upon the cross, and strive to be like Him the rest of your life.
As for those with mental problems. If these problems are such that they cannot make a choice between right and wrong then they are considered the same as an infant, and therefore innocent in Gods eyes. IF they can differentiate right from wrong then they need Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

God's Infinite Mercy

[39:53] Proclaim: "O My servants who exceeded the limits, never despair of GOD's mercy. For GOD forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, Most Merciful."

[39:54] You shall obey your Lord, and submit to Him totally, before the retribution overtakes you; then you cannot be helped.

[39:55] And follow the best path that is pointed out for you by your Lord, before the retribution overtakes you suddenly when you least expect it.

[39:56] Lest a soul may say, "How sorry I am for disregarding GOD's commandments; I was certainly one of the mockers."

[39:57] Or say, "Had GOD guided me, I would have been with the righteous."

[39:58] Or say, when it sees the retribution, "If I get another chance, I will work righteousness."

[39:59] Yes indeed (you did get enough chances). My proofs came to you, but you rejected them, turned arrogant, and became a disbeliever.

[39:60] On the Day of Resurrection you will see the faces of those who lied about GOD covered with misery. Is Hell not the right retribution for the arrogant ones?

[39:61] And GOD will save those who have maintained righteousness; He will reward them. No harm will touch them, nor will they have any grief.

[39:62] GOD is the Creator of all things, and He is in full control of all things.

[39:63] To Him belongs all decisions in the heavens and the earth, and those who disbelieve in GOD's revelations are the real losers.

[39:64] Say, "Is it other than GOD you exhort me to worship, O you ignorant ones?"

Good question. In God's eyes, sin is sin....period. Whether its stealing from seven eleven, or killing someone, it's still sin to God. Only the Salvation that comes from Jesus Christ, His son, is redemption from that sin. The people who don't beleive have heard, but choose to ignore, the people who are not capable of understanding, will be judged by God, and those who keep sinning, will be apart from God.

The no iPod rule. Although I do understand why they have it in the first place, I'd want to be able to listen to it at lunch or something. People still do it, but there's a chance it can get taken away.

why do people have to have an imaginary friend to make it through life? there is a right and a wrong. if everyone in the world were atheist and believed in the atheist way that "love your brother and the ones that are here not the ones you can't see", then the world would be a much better place...

The Bible says that all sins are equal in God's sight. Just as ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law, niether is it for sinning. The "good news" (i.e. Gospel) is that Jesus died to forgive us of sin and therefore if you ask forgiveness it is granted freely. So that, just as all sin is equal, so too would all forgiveness be equal as well. Godspeed!

Of course they're equal. This kid back in school once stole a piece of candy because he didn't have any money with him. He deserves to burn and suffer in hell for all eternity just as much as the rapist who abused and then murdered him that same week.

That's odd. In my Religious Studies classes, I was taught about the difference between "venial sins" and "mortal sins." I don't think all Christians agree with what you were taught today.
