i have this friend, she's been my best friend since the 6th grade,
i'm in college now, so we've been friends for about 9 years.
i developed a crush in the ninth grade as i got to know her better. but i kept it to myself. she got with this one guy, and things were going smoothly for awhile then it went sour. she comes to me when she needs help/advice.i'll briefly skim, basically at the end of 9th grade i told her how i felt about her, she said it wasn't a good idea. it is now 2006 and she's had about 3 boyfriends, currently with one. we got to talking about regrets, she said she did have feelings for me and regretted saying no to relationship. she constantly complains about her bf, i love her so much and only want the best for her but it feels like she's looking for a guy who will be everything i Want to be to her but she still doesn't want a relationship with me. her bf's are always assholes, and i was always there for her, anyitme she needed me,i keep asking, what did i do wrong?

You are not the problem. She is attracted to a.h. If you are a decent guy that is not attractive to her.
Move on. There are plenty of women looking for a decent guy.

You didn't do anything wrong. You have been a true friend by been there for her when she needed you. I think the best thing for you is you get yourself a girlfriend. She will always be in your life. Personally I believe you should maintain the childhood relationship and not go beyond that. Wish you well buddy!!!

i like the answer that was given about getting yourself a girlfriend. i think you should distract yourself by getting one and maybe this friend of yours will realize you won't always be able to be there for her. also, though i don't know you nor the situation, you did nothing wrong! i don't understand how she regrets saying no the relationship but yet still doesn't want a relationship with you...?

I think the other responders gave some good advice. This kinda sounds like the scenes involving "Jenny" in "Forrest Gump". The world is a huge place with millions of loving people. Don't cheat yourself. You can still be a friend, but you need to be a friend to yourself also.

"Run Forrest, run!!!"

man i hate that situation. seems like the girl wants to lead a life of crap. here u go: write a note saying everything u want to say. dont think, just give it to her. you know that if she just flat out rejects you it will be far better than continuing with this dance of locked up feelings. put that in there too, ya know if ya want lol
you will regret it FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!! if you dont make some sort of move. you will judge all other girls based on their shortcomings compared to her. it blows, so make a move
good luck

She wont know what she's got until its gone. Get yourself a girlfriend, stop waiting on her because she's too busy messing with those assholes. She's probably be very jealous if get a girlfriend.

get yourself a girlfriend. that'll put everything in perspective. then she may feel like she's losing you, instead of always having you available. things might change..... :)

you want her, then go get her. but you cannot always be there for anyone. it's ok to let her be there for you at times.
