Its true that we have a choice. We're so imperfect at this point that our natural inclination is toward badness. To do good requires much more effort on our part, which is not to say that it can't be done. But Satan misleads people into thinking that they're doing good things or that its alright to do things that God strictly forbids in the Bible. So its a combination of both Satan's influence as well as our own imperfections. Blaming our actions on Satan is not a viable excuse in God's eyes, however. That's why its important to fight our imperfect inclinations.

Actually it would be easier to blame god since he created this whole mess including the devil. Can't find the passage at the moment but it goes along the lines of the following:
"Is it not from the mouth of the Lord your god that evil springs?"

The option of evil wouldn't be in the world if it wasn't for the devil. That is why people blame him

James 1:13Â When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14Â But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15Â Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.
Revelation 12:9Â So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

If everything was a deliberate creation of an all knowing god, then everything that results from those creations is also deliberate.
Even if WE choose something, it was still meant to be chosen... So, ultimately, we're following a pre-written formula, like code in a computer program, if the god of the bible exists...

HUMANS AND ANGELS HAVE GOOD AND EVIL
BUT ANGELS KNEW OF IT FIRST
God said, They have become as one of us to know good and evil Gen.3:22;
Satan the serpent Rev.12:9 [ Dragon, serpent, Satan the devil ]; in Genesis 3:1-5; caused Eve to obey him and disregard what God had said.
God said, "Dust to dust." Satan said, " Not so."
John 8:44;
Jesus called him a liar and a murderer, has he murdered the whole human race?
Is he the god of this world?
2Cor.4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Cor.4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them
which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,
who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Cor.11:14; Transforming himself into an angel of light.
Peter Says he walks around like a roaring lion seeking to devour.
So if God said man would surely die and turn to dust and Satan said, not so, what does the world believe today? What really is correct?
Can we really be blind, if we learn to know it as God knows it so that we do not present God as wrong?
