At one time the biggest use was in industry, cotton waste was use for clean up of spiels and parts. They were Cotton rages and cotton tread waste.

Next in line was stuffed dolls and toys, pillows......

Now there is a lots of mix waste, nylon, rayon, Cotton, polyester so clean up is not very efficient.

I exactly didn't understand what u exactly meant by recycling. As I was in a textile industry for some years, the waste there was recycled back to fibre by dissolving it into a solvent and then coagulating the solution. Another way is to cut it into very small pieces (around 2-5 mm in length) and use it for reinforcing resins for making shoe soles, untearable paper, synthetic carpet, etc. Hope you got ur answer. bye
