Or VHEMT? Do you think this is a good idea?

It's a movement that seeks to right the ills humanity has inflicted on the earth by not producing more humans to blight the earth, eventually, the human race will die out. This is their position, I was wondering what people thought of it.

I've heard that they don't really want to make humans extinct completely as much as they want to control the human population. I think human population control is a good idea, actually. I mean, if that means controlling the amount of children people can have. They believe that people shouldn't have children, but I think even if they have 2 or less (like in China) then the population would stay the same and population growth would be the worst possibilty. The problem with this is, that it is already too late. And the people who really need to live by this, live in the poorest countries in the world and are having 6 children on average. I don't think that this will make them listen anyway. And the creator of this idea said that he had no hope for it? I agree, but I also agree that it would be the best thing for humans to morally do.

We control our death rate now through medicine, it is only fair to the rest of the Earth that we also control our birth rate.

I was so embarassed how people reacted to the ideas of Dr. Pianka. They completely misunderstood his point and became so defensive. Here's the video:

First I've heard of it. Considering that non-reproduction is one of their major tenets, they're going to have difficulty in passing down their beliefs. It doesn't seem likely that their going to attract very many converts either. Unless, of course, they learn to throw really awesome parties.

I've heard of it. Seems like a dumb idea to me, nature is overrated IMHO. I'd take some live jazz and a nice single-malt over a night in the woods anytime.
