My grandparents were italians and I would like to make a surprise for my family.

Just seek for an Italian boy friend,strictly no English speaking.
The starting will be really hard but then you'll have great benefits in any sense cause,as we say here in Italy,"da cosa nasce cosa" which translation is "one thing leads to another one"...!!

For free... You could place an ad in the paper, see if anyones willing to teach you out of the kindness of their heart if you dont now anyone who speaks Italian. Just make sure you're meeting this person in a public place, with lots of people around you!
Otherwise for a little money...Book stores have great "Foreign Language on CD programs."
Really helpful to actually here the language, and so conveinint, you could be driving to work, exercizing, doing anything and learning the language. Ciou, Buono Noche...
