Is there any virtual drive software that doesn't use SPTD.sys?

Is there any virtual drive software that doesn't use SPTD.sys?

Both Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% use it, and it killed my computer (rendered unbootable). I'd like to get the functionality of those programs without having to worry about this problem.

I am using VirtualDrive 8 on my PC. Using FIND, a search for SPTD.sys was not found on my PC (Xp pro). I got my copy at CompUSA for $10.00 from the discount software bin.

FarStone software is currently selling version 10. I do not know if version 10 uses SPTD.sys
