You'll need to get medical attention if a nosebleed goes on for more than 15 minutes or if it occurs after an injury, such as a punch in the face, especially if you think you may have a broken nose. A nosebleed after a fall or car wreck could be a sign of internal bleeding.

A nosebleed can be scary to get--or see--but try to stay calm. Most nosebleeds look much worse than they really are. Almost all nosebleeds can be treated at home.

If you get a nosebleed, sit down and lean slightly forward. Keeping your head above your heart will make your nose bleed less. Lean forward so the blood will drain out of your nose instead of down the back of your throat. If you lean back, you may swallow the blood. This can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Use your thumb and index finger to squeeze together the soft portion of your nose. This area is located between the end of your nose and the hard, bony ridge that forms the bridge of your nose. Keep holding your nose until the bleeding stops. Don't let go for at least 5 minutes. If it's still bleeding, hold it again for 10 minutes straight.

You can also place a cold compress or an ice pack across the bridge of your nose.

Once the bleeding stops, don't do anything that may make it start again, such as bending over or blowing your nose.

Hold a kleenex tight over the nose, lean far forward with your head down. This will help the blood to clot and stop bleeding. Many people think putting your head back helps, but it doesn't because the blood just flows down the throat and doesn't get a chance to clot as fast because it keeps running back and down. Not only that, but doing this can make some people feel sick.

Her nose has been bleeding for way too long if it's really been two hours. If that's the case, she needs to go to a hospital to make sure there isn't something seriously wrong.

Wonder Wow is right, I use to get nose bleeds everyday for about a year. To answer your question, have her tilt her head slightly forward with her nose slightly upward and with her index finger and thumb gently squeeze her nose. This will help the blood clot and stop the bleeding.

Hope this helps

Pinch her nose together, the pressure will slow and eventually stop the bleeding. DO NOT tip her head back. It will cause the blood to run down her throat and could cause her to choke.
Since it has been going on for over 2 hours, does she have any kind of medical condition that causes her blood to thin and not clot? Is she on any medication that causes her blood to thin?
If it continues for another hour, I'd go to the hospital.

Never hold your head up, it clots your lung pipes, as the nose, mouth and eyes are connected. The best way to fix it is to place rolled up tissues into the bleeding nostrils and sit down with your head at a normal angle.

Keep some gauze's handy. She needs to pack her nose when it starts bleeding like that. That is what they would do if she went to the hospital. If it continues to bleed after packing, she needs to go to the hospital. Also a cool mist humidifier in the room might help.

first of all, let yr friend sitwith her head well forward and loosen any tight clothing around her neck and chest. ask her/him breathe through mouth n pinch the sort part of her nose. forbid speech, swallowing, spitting, or sniffing.allow her to dribble,n mop it up. then, release the pressure after 10 minutes. but i think u better ask her to seek 4 medical aid.

Your roommate needs to see a doctor when this happens. Nosebleeds that go on for two hours should receive medical attention. She also needs to let them know if this happens frequently.

If she has had it for 2 hours and it hasn't quit she needs to go to urgent care and get this medically taken care of. Offer to drive her to urgent care now so they can get this under control.
