I have taken Effexor for 10 years and it's GREAT! It has made such a difference for me. All of these antidepressants have their multitude of side effects. I have never heard of taking this for anorexia ... in fact that is listed as one of the side effects! And as a matter of fact that was the only thing that happened to me that resembled any of the listed side effects. I actually lost weight because the Effexor seemed to cause me to loose my "zeal" or enthusiasm for food. I am used to it now ... but I stopped really craving any particular food.

Are You sure U mean anorexia? That an ailment where you're too skinny. I don't think
efexor xr would help with that it's more of
an anxiety drug. It has terrible side effects.
When I was on it at first everything was okay
but 3 months down the road I could barely walk.
But then I was also on seroquel at the time so
it could be the combination that made it difficult
for me to walk! I suggest U go see a different doctor and see if he/she agrees with the diagnosis. It don't sound right to me and I'm a Herbalist! Valerian tea might be better for you!
it relaxes one. Valerian tea knocks some people out! I'm one of them! The holistic version of Nightol uses Valerian. They also use
the chemical version Valium which is made by a
chemical extracted from Valerian!

Never give up bloodless turkey. Medications corresponding to anti-depressants have to be taken on a regular foundation and for a interval of a few weeks or extra to ensure that the frame to make use of the therapy correctly to even out the chemical in-stability, earlier than you're going to ever see any truly outcome. Most anti-depressants have part results, that regularly subside through the years. However if they're quite bothersome, I might go back to the surgeon to provide an explanation for your signs and probably check out some thing else.

I do not recommend this drug, I was on it for a year and trying to come off of it was pure hell, withdrawls like you are dying!! I think it totally takes away the ability to feel, sad happy anything you just go numb. It is also hard on the sex drive, I would stay away from it.

I took it for a couple of years. It did not help my depression, it made me slow to react(had some wrecks), I yawned constantly, and it took my sexual drive.
