I say keep looking. I know that you are probably very anxious, and rightfuly so, but you dont want to get something you wont be happy with later. So just stick it out a little longer ,I have a feeling that what youre looking for is just around the second hand. Best wishes.

You may know that you want a tattoo but no website will have the right one. A tattoo should be personal, after all it will be with you the rest of your life. I'm not saying that means you have to draw it yourself but at least have a fairly solid concept of what you want and then go to a see a tattoo artist and work with them to have what you really want put on your body.
Nobody can find you the right design.
Oh and Asian characters... not cool unless you really know the meaning... I had a friend who got a Japanese one that was suppose to mean peace or something like that and instead it meant trouble.

You should start scouting tattoo shops and speaking to the artist any reputable artist will work with you tell him your ideas and he will draw something custom for you then you can have him change bits and soon you have exactly what you want these are the best kind of tattoos getting flash off the walls or out of a magazine is a bummer when you walk down the street and see someone with the same exact tattoo.

If you have a vague idea of what you can, a good tattoo artist can design a custom piece for you. It'll be helpful if you can show him or her pictures of stuff you like (and stuff you don't like!).
Depending on what kind of tattoo you have in mind, you might be able to get some ideas going through books of art, clip art, design, etc. They have art sections at most large bookstores, or you could try the library.
Alternately, if you happen to have a good art school in the area, you might be able to get one of the students to design something for you.

go to tattoofinder.com they have alot of cool designs and different catagories to chose from. I in fact got a design from the site. They ask you to purchase it but just make a copy of it and take to you tattoo artist he should know what to do with it. Or just have someone that knows how to draw, draw it for you some tattoo shops wont do it because the design has copy rights on it.

you can usually go into a shop with a design and if its not right they'll fix it. however it may take a while to get a design and find one that you like. but remember dont get it anywhere that's visible with clothes on like on your arm, etc. most businesses wont hire people like that. and remember its permanent. good luck i have a rose tattoo for personal meaning. most people have a significant meaning behind their's.

What do you like, where do you want it, black ink or colored, small medium large, script or a picture, have you gone to a studio and checked out their art? Bodymod.org is a good site. Surely if you know you want one then you should have an idea of what you want and where its going to go, its up to you its your body, just remember that tattoos are permanent. Go to a clean studio and make sure that they are willing to work with you, are sterile, provide healing information and have taken the required medical class about blood born disease.

You shouldn't be getting a tattoo for the sake of saying that you have one. It's got to have real meaning to you. Find something in your life that is significant and a big part of you. And whatever you do, don't get a tramp stamp.

get a custom tattoo from the tattoo artist.
as long as you have an idea of what you want for your tattoo - the artist should come up with something decent with your idea.
unless - you dont even have an idea then you must be wanting one for the wrong reasons

Think about anything you really like--an animal, plant, cultural icon, whatever. For example, I love birds, so I'd probably get one of those. Don't get Chinese characters unless you're sure what it means (and why bother? There are so many more original tattoos).
