I wish you luck getting there.
Wish yourself to the Hall of Records. An attendant will know if your
coming, and help you.
I think I was in the spirit world once. Twice I approached someone at a door,
whose face was blurry until I got close. I think this was so it could act
scary if I didn't pass some kind of test or didn't belong wherever I was.
I went right up to then and as I got closer the faces cleared up and they smiled. Then I had to wait in this corridor where bodies were floating up and down, while this alien looking being had to use a phone and see if I could go through. I kept saying, "I'm supposed to be here, I'm supposed to be here!"
The all white being got a call back and said I could go through.
I went to a higher level and was on some strange world, but something
frightened me and I don't remember any more.

I like you're question. I really do. Wish I knew for sure how to answer that.
The astral realm, would be an out of body experience? Is that right?
I think it might be a little different than just you're basic out-of-body, I remember reading.
Can that state be entered by thinking about it, or meditating, wishing, before you go to sleep.
Than get into lucid dreaming, once you start dreaming. Become aware that you are dreaming, and look at you're hands. They are the starting place to become aware of you're astral body. You need that, it's the vehicle to perform the rest.
Than whatever guiding power within or good power outside yourself, will guide you to do the rest.
Once you've gotten that far. I also heard you can go into past lives directly, but maybe can't access the records because they are sacred text.
Well, you need to personally experience something in order for it to be real, anyway. So maybe you would be better off just going into past life experiences in you're dreams, or with a hypnotherapist or counciler

once you really master the astral travels, you could go anywhere you wish.
you have to start with a little more common places ,like paris, your kindergarden , laguna beach, etc...
then try imaginary places, or places you've never been before, like mars, disneyland, that scary catholic church, etc...
then go for it.......concentrate in the akashic records, picture them however you imagine them....
as a huge mystical library,
as the most state of the art computer,
enter the trance in the way you usually do to travel the astral realm and buy your ticket to the akashic records.
the experience is out of this world.
once you do it the first time, you can always come back and read a different book.
when you wake up, try to record what you experienced.
if you forget it...it wont be of much use =)

Great question. Im not really sure, but there are many meditation websites designed to prepare you for that kind of thing. I think it takes a lot of control and practice...but best of luck in your jouney!!!

I'm not sure you can be taught how to do that. Perhaps you will need to experience it for yourself?
