I am looking for an Institute or any school that offers translation and interpretation classes for more than a semester or summer program. I would like to be an interpreter for many languages and just need to know where to start, besides going to a four year university that won't focus on just languages. Does anyone have any ideas :) ?

If you are in the US, Monterrey School of International Studies is considered one of the best in the field. It's in Monterrey, California. You can get a graduate degree in translation there. There website is www.miis.edu.

Many four-year universities offer translation certificates. I suspect you could complete the certificate program without completing a major program in the language.

I recommend that you talk to someone who does the job you want to do, and ask that person where to get qualified.
