you can't do anything about it. its her decision. you should back off because that can make it even harder for her. respect her & love her for who she is on the inside. be supportive.

20 mins of FUN aerobic activity daily, it doesn't have to be hard: it could be vigorous housework, walking, or bouncing on one of those big balls in front of the TV.

Also, here's a tip: have her get one of those pool noodles at Wal-Mart and then some 2.5-pound ankle weights at Big 5 Sporting Goods. Have her lie on the floor on her back with the ankle weights on her ankles, and her tailbone on the pool noodle. (Personally, I am up to 5 pounds on each ankle now.) I think spot firming and spot reducing does work to a great degree on problem areas. From that position she can do lots of good ab movements and twists and pop her back (like self-chiropractic work). Getting her spine supple will help her carry the weight until she gets rid of it and help bloodflow to all her vital organs, helping her absorb the vitamins/supplements and utilize them better. She will see results if she takes her HGH 3-X (see below), which will encourage her to continue!

Multi vitamin

B Complex

Calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D

Hi-Health's HGH 3-X at night (4 of them)

Metagenics' Metaglycem-X (I think she can only get this by becoming a patient of a Naturopath, but she can check this out, it's WORTH EVERY PENNY)!!!

Amino Max (I forget who the manufacturer is, just do a search on the Net, you'll find it.)

And probably she has a slow thyroid: try Thyodine from www.greenwillowtree.com (watch out for caffeine in the diet with this--certainly she should NOT be taking Ma Huang or any stimulants anyway as this will only raise her cortisol levels and create a bulging belly). If she gets jittery, she doesn't need the Thyodine. If she feels great, she needed it!

Thyodine can be taken with L-tyrosine (found at most health food stores). It potentiates the Thyodine, makes it work better.

And, lastly, Progesterone cream, bioidentical horomone from a Naturopath and a compounding pharmacy. She may be low on Progesterone, which many women are these days, and it makes it almost impossible to lose weight if your progesterone is low. (DO NOT buy wild yam cream from a store--it is NOT the same.)

She has probably been under a lot of stress, that can cause weight gain. Just being overweight in today's society causes stress--which brings on more weight!!! Also, she has probably fasted and dieted too much and slowed down her metabolism. The L-tyrosine will help that. Another indicator that she is not getting actual NUTRITION is the hair loss. She has dieted too much, or she is eating a lot of calories but no nutrition! She should switch to more nutritious food, then slowly reduce the portions over time while doing aerobics and weight lifting. A good breakfast is 3 whole ORGANIC eggs over easy (leave the yolk a little runny) with 2 slices of whole grain toast with real butter. The runny ORGANIC egg yolks will help her hair grow back.

She should eat whole foods, not junk. Like real fruits and veggies, and whole grains and steak and chicken and occasional low-mercury fish are fine. She shouldn't even worry about fat content or calories. It's about the naturalness and wholesomeness of the food.

What is damaging is chips, white bread, rice cakes, SODA pop, ice cream, french fries, etc.

Have her try Weight Watchers' fudgsicles, they take care of that chocolate craving.

First of all you didn't say whether or not your sister is an overeater. It is not normal for her hair to be falling out and you say she is over weight. Has she been checked to see if there is anything medically wrong with her---for instance her thyroid. Your sister needs your support right now and not someone telling her all the time she needs to lose weight. First, I would have your sister checked over medically to see if she has something wrong. If she is cleared by the doctor then I would start an exercise program with your sister and also a diet program too that she can follow.

She has to want to lose the weight herself for starters. If you go at her about her weight, chances are it will only upset her and hurt her. There are several diets out there to try, Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers are great places to go! It's more than dieting though, she also has to exercise. She also doesn't want to lose weight too rapidly. That can have a very adverse affect on the heart. As for the hair loss, that could be caused by hormones or stress.

I feel Bad for your sister and the hair losing thing prob is due to stress. You know if someone wants to lose weight they will if they really want too you cant force your sister but what you can do is be supportive and don't criticize her it will only make her not want to do it. maybe you and her can join a gym together also give her compliment's to help build her self esteem. I wish you the best of luck

Maybe you can begin to work out with her. You know, make it like a sister thing. Make it fun and exciting. For example, my friend told his wife that if she lost so many pounds in 3 months then he would give her 1500 dollars. Maybe you guys can play games along those lines.

be suportive and not forcing. if she herself realizes she overweight then sign up for a rec. sports leage for example. this builds self esteem and gets your body into shape. also tell her about healthy eating techniques like watching calories. she has to loose weight herself so the best thing for you to do is show her ways how.

Uh uh, shut-up, losing her hair? Well, there is only so much that you can do to help her. If she won't listen, there is really not much that you can do...It's her life.

Live your own life....

Some of my family members want me to loose weight. I don't want to right now because I'm not fat, or chubby or whatever, so yeah...

She has to want to change for herself..believe me i've tried helping people..if they dont want to do it, they wont. Just let her know that you love her and you care about her health. At least she'll hear your feelings and possible see that she's got reasons to become healthier.
