5 whole days and a small part on my top thumb (that got burned) is white and numb...it hasnt got better..will it stay like this?? should it be numb?

Sounds like a small 3rd degree burn. Keep it clean and dry..The high temperature of the sparkler caused the burn and probably killed some of the nerve endings. The biggest concern you should have is the burn getting infected, even if it is small. If it does, go see a doctor. You may not regain any feeling in that small spot, and a scar may develop after the dead skin falls away.

The white spot is probably due to sulfur or whatever caustic material was in the sparkler. Pyrotechnic burns may take a little longer to heal than ordinary wounds. Just make sure it does not get infected.

I burnt my hand when my sparkler exploded the last 4th of July. The whiteness and numbness is normal. You got some 2nd degree burns, and that is what happens while it is healing. Just keep it clean and you will be fine. :-)

i think its healing.. not really sure.. but it's best if you stop by at your doctor's place.. or if you go to school.. stop by there and ask
