So... I've been with my girlfriend for 22 months. It was good at first but lately I've been feeling less and less happy.

She's pretty active in a community service fraternity, but it seems like no one really likes her in their. Still, she persists which means less time for us. I'm fine with that I guess, whatever, more time for myself.

She is also really hedonistic. She eats out all the time - she never/doesn't know how to cook. She does a lot of shopping. She often asks me for money and gets really mad when I don't give her money.

She's also reall self-centered and one of those "I have to win everything" types.

On the plus side, it just feels so good when I'm with her. I can't explain it. She's very thoughtful, kind, and she's really nice. It just feels right. Part of it might be me afraid of breaking up with this long term relationship.

Thoughts?

IT SOUND LIKE YOU NEED TO REALLY LOOK AT THIS FOR
WHAT IT WORTH, YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH HER THEN
WHY ARE YOU STILL THERE. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY
THEN TIME TO LEAVE HER ALONG. IT NOT GOING TO GET
ANY BETTER DOWN THE ROAD. YOU MAY BE AFRAID OF
LOSING THIS PERSON AFTER SUCH LONG PERIOD TIME
AND THAT NORMAL.BUT IF YOU NOT HAPPY THEN WHY
STAY WITH SOMEONE THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU WHAT
YOU NEED.

You know sometimes its not meant to be but if you want to be in a relationship it has to be a 50/50 team effort and from the sound of it she does not have time for you and that is not fair and I am sorry i can not stand those self-centered snobs...I feel sorry for you. But you have to go with what your heart says like they say when one door closes another one opens. you sound like a very nice person and you deserve better than that.

If she doesn't treat you at a equal level you will always feel slighted. There has to be a trade-off. I'll give you money so you don't get mad at me if you cook meals or clean my place type of arrangement. Don't lower your self worth by giving in now, it could develop into something much worst later.

May be you should just tell her all you told us. She does need to hear all this.... Like the money thing and being self-centered. People change for the ones they love, and that is a fact.

you can't be selfish in a relationship...........you have to find some type of common ground, if she can't respect that .......kick her to the wind.
